How I Asked My Bridesmaids

Last weekend I asked my bridesmaids if they would like to be in my wedding. I really wanted to give them something special when I asked them and it had to be original and handmade. So I searched around online looking for ideas and found the cutest poem on weddingbee.com!

Here's how the poem goes:

"The day, the dress
The bride, the groom
The joy, the tears
Will all come so soon
Professing true love
To my husband-to-be
With family and friends
All watching me
I hope the sun will
Be shining down,
Keep your fingers crossed
That I'll fit in my gown…
But there's just one more thing
that there needs to be…
and that's to have you
Standing with me!

Will you be my bridesmaid?"

I copied this poem into blank note cards I bought from Target and glued a glittery letter (the first letter of each girl's name) to the front of each one with Aleene's Original Tacky Glue.

Then I tied each card to a single yellow rose with a thin turquoise ribbon and voila! My bridesmaids were surprised and they absolutely loved their gift!

Here are some pictures~

  3. P.S. How did you do the design and did you buy the letters? I've really been wanting to start making my own cards. :)

  4. I actually bought the cards with the design on them already. I think the letters were from Michael's and I glued them on.... That would be awesome if you started making your own cards! So fun! :)
